Middle Dnipro Region (Naddniprianshchyna)

The Middle Dnipro region is the true heart of Ukraine, beating in rhythm with the mighty Dnipro River. Unlike the forested Polissia or the rocky landscapes of Podillia, this is a land of vast open spaces and endless skies — a realm of fertile black soils and golden fields that for centuries fed much of Europe. It was here that the iconic image of Ukraine was formed: whitewashed houses set among cherry orchards, sunlit steppes, and the majestic river. This is a land of farmers and warriors, where the soul of the nation took shape.

Locations

Church of Saint Paraskeva

The Church of Saint Paraskeva was built in 1742 in the style of Ukrainian Baroque, without the use of a single metal nail. The founder of the church was Urszula Franciszka Radziwiłł, the last representative of the Vyshnevetsky family line. The church is a significant monument of vernacular sacred architecture of the Middle Dnipro region and serves as an architectural focal point of the museum exhibition.

School from the Village of Lotasheve

The school from the village of Lotasheve in the Talne District of Cherkasy Oblast is an example of a parish school from the early 20th century. Built in 1903, the building reflects the everyday life and educational realities of a Ukrainian village at the beginning of the 20th century.
